E-Commerce Industry Tackles Fraud and Transforms Payment Risk into Revenue at CNP Expo

May 15, 2017

Merchant registration available at CNPExpo.com through May 21; onsite registration opens May 22

NORWALK, Conn. (May 15, 2017) — A diverse community of merchants and payments industry technology providers will come together to transform fraud and payment risk into revenue at the 2017 CNP (CardNotPresent) Expo, May 22-25, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL. Merchant registration is available at CNPExpo.com through May 21 and onsite registration opens May 22.

The four-day industry gathering begins with a fraud and payments "boot camp" for companies new to e-commerce on May 22, and continues May 23-25 with more than 50 educational sessions, exclusive merchant-only sessions for transparent sharing of practical solutions, daily keynote presentations, the release of the new "True Cost of Fraud" study by LexisNexis Risk Solutions, exhibits by some 100 companies serving the e-commerce industry, a full schedule of demo stage presentations, multiple professional networking events and the annual CNP Awards Party.

Additionally, industry feedback has been positive regarding the 2017 keynote presentations, “Cops and Robbers,” featuring Brett "Gollumfun" Johnson, a former U.S. Secret Service most wanted cybercriminal, and Jeff Pizzuro, commander of a law enforcement digital investigations and technology task force. Johnson and Pizzuro will provide a well-rounded perspective of criminal sociology/motivation, the latest fraud techniques and law enforcement insights on fighting fraud.

"Fraud is costly for businesses, large and small,” said D.J. Murphy, editor-in-chief of CardNotPresent.com. “For small e-commerce businesses, just a few fraudulent transactions could put them out of business. But with less than 10 percent of all retail transactions in the U.S. online, the opportunity is enormous. The CNP Expo is built to bring together the e-commerce community with experts who can help them to reduce fraud, transform payment risk and leverage growth into new revenue."

E-commerce companies sending staff include Amazon, AMC Theatres, American Eagle Outfitters, Angie’s List, Bass Pro Shops, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Big Lots, Chico’s FAS, Coach, Costco, Crate & Barrel, Crocs, Darden Restaurants, Dell, Disney, Domino’s Pizza, Dunkin’ Brands, Etsy, FedEx, GameStop, General Motors-Onstar, Google, JoAnn Fabric & Craft Store, LEGO, McDonald’s, Pinterest, priceline.com, Sirius XM, Sony PlayStation, StubHub, TJX Companies, United Airlines, Universal Orlando and more.
